Many letters on this forum as to the reasons for why a wife chooses to get impregnated by a lover rather than by her husband. I suppose the most common is where the hubby has a very low sperm count, & the pressures of modern living has, over the years, made this an even bigger problem.
Then other related ones. Could the husband be a latent gay? Can he not get an erection for whatever reason? He had a genetic condition, meaning a very high chance of his children inheriting the, quite often, fatal condition; or certainly life curtailing one. He himself does not have it, as it skips a generation. No medical person am I, & generally a complicated issue, but it’s known as an Autosomal Recessive Condition, where a generation is missed.
Now NO way was I going to allow any child of mine to knowingly inherit a nasty illness.
I am a HR specialist, & at a former place of work was a work colleague in an operational department, but the same level/grade as me. Being in HR, I naturally got to see all his records, including his health data—& as far as I could tell, he was kinda perfect, & based on the ‘medical’ he, at his grade, had had. I’m very blonde, possibly due to having a Norwegian grandma. But what was amusing was that this guy Stuart was meant to look exactly like me.
People always mistook us for siblings. At this place of work, sadly Stuart, apparently very intelligent etc had a falling out with one of the bosses. Won’t go into details, but I think Stuart ‘showed him up’, & that didn’t go down well. Well, this meant that he had to leave, but he soon got a couple of job offers. A long story, but a reorganisation resulted, & I too was promoted to a higher level. Stuart & I got on very well, & asked me, now a very senior manager, for a job reference. I was more than happy to do so! So essentially he ‘owed me one’.
When my husband’s gene thing was raised, & the fact that I could never entertain having his children, my attention focussed on Stuart. Husband very kindly, after much persuasion agreed that I be inseminated by my look alike.
